PC wont boot up

I was just on my pc on the interenet and msn i pressed a key on my keyboard and a blue screen of death appeard. This is the 1st bsod ive had. I restarted and now my pc wont even load the bios. Ive tried swapping the ram but still nothing all the fans spin but it wont load the bios or nothing. The cpu fan is spining and also there is power going to the motherboard, cd rom, graphics card.

Any ideas

Try swapping hdd's if you have one laying around.

could it be overheating? usually you get a BSOD when the computer overheats, the computer shutsdown, 2 prevent itself from blowing up.

Overheating doesnt give you a BSOD, it just hard shuts down. I doubt it was overheating.

Thanks for all your replie much appriciated. Just to let you know i tried all of that and it still wouldnt post so i took it to the computer shop. He said its and hardware related problem and it can go at anytime. He said it could be any peice of hardware in my pc.

Anything can be the problem, most of the time its unlikley stuff.....

Just to keep you informed the man at the computer shop stripped the pc down to check it isnt shorting out etc, and put it all back together but the computer still wont fire up. The motherboard is an abit av8 and the code its displaying is 0.4 which he said is reserved so it shouldnt be displaying it. Hes going to try all my parts on a new motherboard today to see if that is the cause.

Just had some news from the computer shop it was my processor that is gone, so im getting a 3500+ 64 bit put in.

You could have just gotten a defective chip or something, you never know.

Once i get the computer back with the new 3500+ 64 processor i will try and return the 3200+ chip to amd, but i heard it can be a bit of a pain but ill try my best.

yea im sorry man, but my friend built a computer one time, and his mobo was defective within a week and you would not believe the hassle he had to go through to get his money back. its just what happens sometimes.
