PC won't even turn on.

I have an
asus crosshair V formula
amd phenom II 1100T
g.skill ripjaws x series 8gb

i have everything wired correctly I believe but when I try to power on the computer, nothing. Even when I use the dedicated power button on the mobo it still doesn't boot. The only time it even gets power is randomly and the fans will run, but no display. I should also mention that the lights on my mobo are on. meaning i have power, it's just not even posting.... nothing.
 
I had this same issue when I had a bad stick of ram in. I took it out and put a new stick in and bam ran like a champ. But it did beep at me when this bad ram was in but that is all it would do.
 
check your standoffs, make sure your not shorting out your motherboard. i have a feeling your shorted out somewhere without knowing it.
 
Ruled out everything except the motherboard, it has to be it. It's not shorted out because I even assembled it out of the case to test it and it was acting the same way. My friend thinks it's a cmos defect anyway i'm going to RMA it so it doesn't matter i get a new one.
