Hey guys I have a question.
I used to have before I bought the new video card on saturday,
Antec Smart2.0 500w psu
7600GT video card
3GB Corsair XMS2

Yesterday i replaced the video card with a 8800GT KO and today when i was going to use the computer the pc wouldnt turn on. and the motherboard is lighted up orange.

What do you guys think its causing the computer not turn on? Could it be that the PSU doesnt have sufficient power to give for the whole computer?

I was thinking if is the PSU, i was thinking on getting this PSU:
ThermalTake / PurePower W0129RU / 600-Watt / ATX 2.2 / 120mm Fan / SATA-Ready / PCI-E Ready / Active PFC / Power Supply

When you say it is lighted up orange, is the orange light from a code showing up on your motherboard? If so, what is the code.

And what motherboard are you using?

the motherboard doesnt beep. is just lighted up orange and the motherboard is a LGA 775

Do you have a LED on your mother board that is displaying numbers or letters? (where is the orange coming from?) What model motherboard, Asus, Gigabyte? and the model number would help as well.

Make sure that the VC is seated correctly all the way down. Also make sure all power connections are plugged in.If you still get the error then it is your PSU that does not have enough amps on the 12 v rails to completely power that moster.

it says STAYLED where is lighting up

Take out the GFX and turn it on again. What happens?

Make sure everything is plugged in correctly... and that you plugged in the 6pin...

one thing i forgot to mention, when i installed the video card i didnt use the 6pin to 6pin cable that goes directly to the psu. i used the one that comes inside the box when u buy the video card.

the video card was working yesterday, i was actually playing Crysis yesterday with it. so should i take it off and put it back again still?

ok I took it off and the computer didnt do anything so its not the video card then. i checked where it was plugged and it was from the video card to one of the 4 pins connectors that comes from the dvd . maybe that was that caused the problem, since i didnt use the 6pin to 6pin connector.

That wouldn't matter...

Do you have another PSU? Did you accidentally push some of the front connectors out of their sockets?

no everything is normal i was using the computer until today 4AM EST.

could it be that i drained out the power from the power supply? since i connected from one of the dvd player cable?

Unsufficient... maybe... but the 8800GT sucks little power... (around the 8600's consumption if I'm not mistaken...

Do you have a spare PSU to try on?
