Hi just wondering if any knows anything about the pc world sale were computers and laptops are £199 just i saw the advert on tv and i would like a cheap laptop to take to college and not really worry if it gets stolen lol.

There not on there website

Any advice please as today is the last sale day.

Go for it. A cheap laptop won't have the latest hardware, which could be good in terms of battery life. If it's just for work, then get yourself the cheapest laptop they have.

If you intend on gaming, then intend on spending a lot more than £200 on a laptop.

Yeah i agree with thealmightyone,

Just go for it because they wont last long,And realy for collage work it wont need to be that powefull unless your doing like video edition of something demanding.
But i suppose they would be ok for word processing/email and stuff.
Im actuly going to Pc world today to see what sales they have on.

Yeah thats what i said they wont last long.
You will be lucky if they have any left because alot of people buy them as late xmas gifts.

i should say the basic specs would be around 1.5GHz CPU, 256MB RAM, 64MB onboard graphics and XP Home pre installed.

Cant see it been much better than that for £199.

Probably a Celeron

£200 for a laptop, used just for work. A damn fine deal. I would get one, but I have no need for one, and I'm saving for a G80.

When it slows down, a nice defrag, adware + virus scan and disk cleanup will do the trick.
