Pc2-5300 Vs Pc-5300

First time poster so, hello
Does anyone know the difference between PC-5300 and PC2-5300? is this mearly a way of specifying DDR and DDR2? the reason I ask is because I've seen Ram advertised as DDR2 PC-5300. I appreciate any help.

yes PC XXXX vs PC2 XXXX is DDR vs DDR2.

im not sure you can even get ddr ram rated at PC-5300.....

There are still areas of overlap. (4000, 3200, etc).

If it says DDR2 PC XXXX then it is DDR2 but if you just see PC XXXX then it is safe to assume it's DDR.
