I have a dell optiplex 755 with 2 PCI hookups and a PCI-E. I hooked up a GE-Force FX 5200 and was running the motherboard to a lcd and the FX to a plasma. Worked fine......then I hooked up a GE-Force GT 8600 and now I get a blue screen saying it's messed up......I Want to run the lcd with the 5200 and two plasmas with the 8600 but it seems like the PCI card and the PCI-E won't work together...I have been told they do by tech support..but.........and I'm running XP.......everything else is intalled right- drivers etc....and the onboard motherboard graphics is disabled?? Should I just install two PCI's with Dvi's to run the plasmas and use the lcd off of the motherboard...any ideas thanks.....John

If I understand correctly, you want to run 3 monitors with 2 different graphics cards. you can't run 2 different video cards like that. use only one or the other. I don't see why you would want to use the 5200 when you have a 8600. just use 2 monitors for the 8600.

maybe your PSU isnt good enough to handle the 8600. I really cant help if you dont post all of your pc specs (motherboard and PSU mainly).

I don't think you can plug in a PCI and a PCI-E graphics card at the same time and expect them to work together.

the 8600 gt doesn't work with the motherboard...meaning you cant' run three monitors.....J

No, it means that you don't really know what your saying... And yes you can run 3 monitors...

Oh yes, an BSOD must have been caused by an PSU issue.. of course! [/SARCASM]

Truthfully, I'm pretty sure you can run it like that.. I've tried an FX5200 AGP with an S3 Virge 1MB PCI GFX, the S3 didn't power on, but the screen showed that it was recognizing it. I would first try to uninstall any old/ATI drivers around.
