PCI-E video card

Hey, im getting a new computer and its going to have a crapy video card, I was just wondering if ya guys could give me some links to a good pci-e video card.

Is it a huge difference from AGP (thats what i got in my computer now).

Im looking for something between 75 and 200 bucks.

I have a geforce 6800 AGP video card now and its 256mb, since the new computer is going to be PCI-e is 128mb good enough to get the same performance as my 256mb AGP?
 
get a 7600gt. they seem to be popular. another good choice would be an x1600xt but i hear its a little worse.
x1600pro vs 7600gs omega thought the 7600gs was a lot better... but that was pro vs gs, not xt vs. gt.
7600gt or the x1600xt are very good alternatives.
also, a prime competitor against the 7600gt is the x1800gto. check out some benchmarks :D

plus with the right card it can be unlocked and overclocked nicely.

any brand is good. the only real difference is the warranty, but i just go with the cheapest of the GPU type. so if you decide to get a 7600gt, then get the CHEAPEST 7600gt you can find.

The 6800 extreme would perform better. It has 256bit memory interface, 16 pixelpipelines, and a faster core and memory speeds. The 7600GS only has 128bit memory interface, 12 pixel pipelines, and a slower core and memory clock speeds.

actually the 6800XT has 8 pixel pipelines. not only that, but it has a slower clock speed... and the 7600gt actually has a 1.6ghz memory clockspeed, because its ddr. it runs at 800mhz, ddr1600. tigerdirect always glorifies their products... they make sure the bigger number is in there whereas newegg has the manufacturer fill everything out. lol

6800xt / 7600gs
core:
8 pipes / 12 pipes
350mhz / 400mhz
memory:
256bit / 128-bit
1ghz / 1.5ghz
the 7600gt performs better. XT is good for ATI, but NVidia poked fun at it and made it a worse card.

the competator to the 7600GT is the 6800GT and for the 7600GS is the 6800GS, where as the 7600's are both better in both situations, despite their crippled memory interface

ehh... im not so sure about 7800gs vs 6800gs.. the 7800gs seems like it would obviously be better...
but in either way, the 7600gt is definitely better than the 6800xt.

The 7600GS isn't that good, the 6800GS is very close to the 6800GT. Basically, the 7600GT performs about as well as the 6800 Ultra (and hence, somewhat better than either the 6800GT or 6800GS). The 7600GS outperforms the 6600GT and 6800XT.

The 6800XT has only 8 pipes, and a pretty pathetic core clock. Granted it has the potential to be unlocked, but even so the overclocking potential is relatively low. The 128-bit memory interface was once used to claim that the 6800GS was better than the 7600GT, but in reality there wasn't a significant performance hit. It's even less significant with the 7600GS, which isn't really designed for the kind of hi-res gaming that would benefit most from a 256-bit memory interface. The 6800XT never had a terribly significant advantage over a 6600GT, which the 7600GS solidly outperforms.

I believe that it's 400Mhz (800DDR) (this is the GS, not the GT)

The 7600GT would also be a good choice, if your budget can stretch a little.
