Actually in performance reviews on most cards the AGP version will push more FPS then a PCI express version
Reason:Most Video Cards that are out were originally built on the AGP platform and then converted to PCI express...so in actuality a card designed for AGP then converted to PCI express will not perform better then its intented counterpart...the bottleneck being the card design. There are all kinds of performance reviews on the net for instance an X800XL AGP is roughly 8% Faster then an X800XL PCI....same with the 6800 series....however SLI will compensate for that. The bandwith s of PCI Express are no where near being fullfilled, however the future of video cards is definetly PCI express...but if you own an AGP board with decent system...and are not looking to upgrade mobo, processor, etc...but are looking to upgrade video cards...you are still safe with AGP until probaly the next gen of cards
