???PCI Express 2.0???

What exactly are the benefits with pci 2.0? Could i get a motherboard that doesn't support pci 2.0 and run a video card that supports it just as fast as a motherboard that supports it and a video card that does too?
Too make it simplified

pci 1.0 mobo + gpu pci 2.0 = pci 2.0 mobo + gpu pci 2.0

Are these equal?

first off, wrong section. It should either be in the mobo, or GPU section

then, the say 2.0 gives a better performance cause of its higher bandwidth, but if you google the issue, you will see it gives like a 1-3 frame advantage (2.0 on a 2.0).

The only time performance will be hindered is if the PCI-E slot is x8 or x 4
 
2.0 has double the bandwidth. Its utterly un-necessary seeing as our current cards don't saturate the PCIE 1.0 X16 slots yet.
 
I've heard that some cards show 10% performance gains on 2.0, if you are going to get a new mobo get PCI-E 2.0.
