Pci Express 2.0

I know this is a new pci port which has more bandwith than the pci e 16, but how much more im not sure. Is it from 2500mhz to 5000mhz. My graphics card is also 2.0, but nvidia monitor says the pci port that the card is on is at 2500mhz with the option to OC it up to 5000mhz. According to my motherboard manual the card is definatly in 1 of the 2 pcie 2.0, but no matter which pci port i put the card into its always one of the other pci ports running at 5000mhz and not the 1 the card is in. Should i just put it up to 5000mhz?

The PCI-E port runs at 100MHz, both 1.1 and 2.0. PCI-E 2.0 has double the bandwidth as PCI-E.

He might be talking about the bandwidth/Signaling rate of 5GT/s of PCIe 2.0. If its a 2.0 board and a 2.0 card I dont know why it would default at 2.5GT/s and give you the option to overclock/raise it to 5GT/s. Kinda odd.
