PCI IDE Controller

I've got two hard drives on separate IDEs in RAID 1 as masters and two optical drives as slaves. It takes forever to burn anything off the hard drives and I was thinking about getting a PCI IDE controller card and moving the optical drives to it. Anyone have any recommendations on specific cards?

No they should all do the job quite well, but I thought most boards have at least 1 IDE controller, O well that's the world. Always changing

Not really any specific suggestions, just that it is going to be hosting 90% of all communication withni your system, if you skimp and go with a real cheap one then you will pay the price. DO NOT SKIMP, go all out and get a decent one.

My motherboard has 2 IDE slots, each is filled with a hard drive and an optical drive. But becuase I've got the two IDE hard drives in RAID 1, I'm burning data off the same channel. That's why I'm looking into getting a PCI IDE controller.

Many of the PCI IDE controllers I've found seem to use Silicon Image's chipset. Anyone know if they're decent? Also, what about Promise's products?
