PCI Slot Fans?

Are PCI slot fans good for keeping your gpu cool? aswell as being very cheap lol. its only a nvidia geforce 6200.

You can buy a much better cpu cooler to add to the card for direct cooling for good prices. The fans tried for pci slots don't reaily move enough air for the most part for actually seeing the best cooling. If you have a sound card in the way that won't help any either.

For the older card there and to see prices under $10 newegg carries quite a few starting at http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2010110576+4024&name=%241+-+%2410

When looking those over or others look at which ones are compatible with your card.

I've heard they aren't that great... there are definately better options for cooling then adding one of those (like what pc eye suggested)

I have one lying around here in a box somewhere if I can toss it that far?! :P I can probably tape it to a balloon and see where it ends up for all the worth it was when tried out here. For the cost of one of those going for a good vpu cooler seems the best move for a low cost.

Go with a new cooler rather than generic fans... I never trust fans like that. I'm always afraid it could negate the fan near it.

I tried one in one of the old cases here to see if it would help with the video and sound cards there. It was a joke at best! It barely moved any air while simply making noise! I chucked into a box somewhere and forgot it. I grabbed that in a discount software vendor who sold recycled software and carried some accesories. I'll never waste the effort again on those.
