Pci Slots Help Me!

what version of pci slot do i have or how can i figure it out? i want to buy a new video card which i think can only run on a 3.3v slot! HELP PLEASE!

2.66 ghz
2048 mb ram

As you can see from the above you would need a pci type video card since that system is limited due to the lack of an AGP slot. Once a pci model was installed you would then disable the onboard video in the bios itself.
 
I feel quite sure you could use about any PCI video card availiable... Without knowing the specifics of your computer I just know I've personally never had a problem with PCI compatablility, even when sticking a Voodoo3 3000 in a 486 ;) (IE very old computer)

THANKS AGAIN! i am definitely going to buy it now that i know that it will work with my computer. i think that the person who was commenting on it and emphasized that i needed a v3.3 was going a little too in depth. i think that like he said most computers made after 2001 like mine (made in 2004) have the v3.3 little thingy. thanks again you guys have been a help! :D

oh and in the tech specs it says that it needs a 300 watt power supply. what does that mean? and what do i have to change about my dell 2400 to fit that?

Most atx boards prior to SLI or ATI Crossfire boards have the 300w minimum for a supply just to run a completely basic system. The usual factory rec is 350w. This was the way it was until the Socket 754, 939, and newer P4 model boards arrived where the additional 12v feed was added. 400w and above is seen most of the time to cover SATA and newer video cards. If you buy a new supply from someone other then Dell you may to cut a small piece out of the case for it to fit. Dell has "their own" way of mounting supplies.

Someone here just recently cut a little 1.5" piece to see a better supply fit into a Dell case. That's Dell's way to make people buy supplies only from them. Thought you might want to know about that one. The card seen at Compusa is a newer model then seen at several online vendors where the Radeon 7000 and Radeon 9250 are the only others. That one is also newer then the NVidia models seen at those sites as well.
