Would there be a significant speed loss if I put a pcie 3.0 gpu into a pcie 1.0 slot? I'm doing a budget build, and would like to get as cheap of a motherboard as possible, possibly even reuse an old one I find laying around if it has the right socket. The gpu I'd be using would probably be a 750 ti 2gb, maybe sc.

Each PCIE version is roughly double the bandwidth.

A 16x PCIE2.0 slot would be equivalent to an 8x PCIE3.0 slot.
A 16x PCIE1 slot would be equivalent to a 4x PCIE3.0 or 8x PCIE2.0

You likely won't exhibit any performance loss.

It will be fine but just don't overclock it. The PCIe 1.0 slot can only provide 75W and the card is 60W stock.

75 W isn't PCIE 1.0 specific and is the same in 2 and 3.
