PCLinuxOS 2007-Error

I like this OS from the looks of it... I just can't get it to boot on my P4 3.2Ghz, X1300, 1Gb RAM PC. It boots and it gets to the screen, I select LiveCD and it checks everything out and give me this error "ERROR: Unable to mount the livecd , Dropping you to a limited shell" So what do I do? What's wrong?

Thanks

so now you gonna rush to ubuntu just because Pclinux didn't boot ?...lol
am just kidding, such error is usually cause by a bad burn
Did you check the md5sum ?

As a general rule of thumb, always burn a Live CD .iso at the slowest possibly speed. This will allow for a more careful burn and insure that all the info is correct. I'd try making a new .iso. And yes, try Ubuntu :P

I like PCLinuxOS, just slightly different but yeah... I will burn another CD at slowest just to insure a good burn... What is the md5sum?

Thanks

The md5sum is an algorithm that is outputted by some programs to show what the file has in it. The computer that builds it creates the sum and then many sites offer the sum to see if you have a download with the correct sum. I've no idea how it's calculated but I know it's proved useful on 2 occasions. Generally a faster burn will result in more chance of errors occuring.
