Hi all Buddy,

I am encountering a PC problem.

Whenever i run multiple programmmes simultaneously eg. opeing everal youtube web pages together, my PC will shut down by its own.

Thereafter, I cannot reboot my PC immediately. I can only reboot my PC only after about 15minutes later.

May I know what is the problem with my PC? is it power supply? RAM?

Please advise... Thanks!! Appreciate.

:)

How much RAM do you have?
Seems one of these problems
1. You don't have page file activated/not enough page file memory allocated
You should allocate more page file.
2. Overheating (processor)
You should check the cooling system if it works properly (it may not because of dust, or other reasons)

If you're using 1 GB on Vista, than you need to activate the paging file (by default it is activated). On xp, it may work without page file, but it is very unstable.
To activate/increase the page file size:
1. Right click on the my computer icon and select Properties
2. Go to the "Advanced" tab, and click the Settings button under "Performance"
3. Go to the "Advanced" tab (again in the new window) and under Virtual Memory select "Change"
4. Make sure you have the following options activated:
Drive: C:
"Custom Size" activated
Initial Size (MB): 2046
Maximum Size (MB): 4092
5. Press OK to close every window opened.
If these settings were already set as I said, this means that the problem is overheating.
The solution is to make sure that the cooling system works properly (not buy a new one). Usually overheating happens when there is dust inside your pc. Try clean as much dust as you can.

HI chibi,

Thanks so much for your advice. Appreciate it.

I have open the case and clean a whole chunk of dust accumulated at the cooler. In addition, I have also changed the settings under the "My Compuer".

Hope it helps.

Thank you!!! :)
