PD 945 questions...

well, this is my first computer that im building so i dont really know to much bout this stuff and im building it on a part time job budget, but my processor is on its way which is a Pentium D 945 3.4ghz, i paid $177.00 and i just have some questions about it.

1. I always hear about how the C2D's are alot better in PD reviews, but is it atleast a decent processor that will be able to OC and will i be getting my moneys worth out of it? cuz everytime i see a review about a pentium D everyone always replys with "the core duos are better" so i was just woundering about the PD itself and not how other core duos will outperform it. thnx

The Core 2 Duo would have been a much better choice, at only about $5 more, but its too late for that. The PD will be a decent performer, but don't expect it to be the best in games.

Sorry dude but this is not a smart choice
If you get any chance in the near future to get rid of it and get a C2D just take it.
But your system looks OK don't be disappointed.

A 945 is fine. It's not fantastic, but it's not like he just bought a paper weight or anything either. You might want an aftermarket cooler for it, especially in the summer.
