Pentium 2 comp won't load Bios

I have a pentium 2 sitting here and there are two big problems with it

First off let me say that last night when messing with the inside of it, I somehow got a spark to flash somewhere between the HDD and the PSU

Ok, so first the computer wouldn't turn on, but after a night of letting it sit, the computer now turns on... but...

1) The Bios won't start, and upon loading the computer, it stops at "Mouse initialized"

2) Before the bios stopped loading, the hard drive was only recognized on a few occasions, sometimes yes, sometimes no

any suggestions besides taking a jackhammer to it?

thank you very much

Hmm. . .

Pentium2. Fun.

Try removing the mouse.

Maybe you fried the PSU, A Quick Smell of it should give you some idea weather you did it or not.

It will be quite a strong burnt metal smell. If it smells like dust n metal, chances are its ok.

Ram, Check your ram, Do they have any burn marks on them?

I have seen a power surge from PSU blow Ram. (bastardo thing did it too me tonight Thus this thread)

hmm, What else.

Just check, Make sure all your plugs are firmly in, If necessary, disconnect them, Re connect them.

Hard drive.

When you turn the computer on, Does the hard drive vibrate when you touch it (by vibrate, i mean does it spin)

If not, your hard drive may have died.

Sparks around computers are never a good thing.

How did it happen?

Working inside a computer, It should always be at least off, if not unplugged.
