pentium 4 and core duo

ok so i have a e2140 duo core i know its only 1.6ghz but still its pretty good. this website is trying to tell me that my e2140 is not good enough to run prostreet which i own i just need a video card. this is the pentium d quite new 2.8 ghz and it still falls behind

whos right, its the same idea with ram its better to have 2 sticks of 512 mb dual channel than one gig of ram.

The second link is far more accurate in many ways. The Core 2 Duo E6700 looks good without being the top model in the chart seen there over going to a faster single P4 model. You'll note that the AMD AM2 6000+ X2 model run here also did very well as seen as well in the chart there.

Why downgrade yourself? P4s run hot compared to the newer Core 2 Duos, Extremes, etc.. over the typical power hungry P4 line.
 
so the e2140 is better for gaming and basically everything than the 2.8 ghz pentium 4 according to toms hardware and still beats the pentium d while maintaining a cool tempurature. So what than the system running link(first) is bullshit than, or what?

Yes. The Systemrequirements thing probably only looked at speed...

E2140 is alot better than the P4's. Trust me :D


(I'm on one right now. Not a pretty sight.)
 
With the P4s Intel was more concerned at the time with cpu clock speed where AMD had the lead in gaming for seeing more work done per clock cycle while seeing slower cpu clock speeds like 2-2.2ghz with their older Socket A models. The new Generation of Intels run cooler as well as applying the principal AMD was using over what was seen in the P4s. Look at gaming review to see how the Core 2s will blast the older cpu types.
 
I've been hearing some mixed reviews on the newly released AMD quad core models now available namely the Phenons. AMD has a "help me decide" link seen at http://www.amd.com/us-en/Processors/ProductInformation/0,,30_118_15331,00.html

The link seen near the top of the page there brings up a popup type selector where you choose the type of system like server, desktop, or laptop and then the catagory like gaming, digital entertainment, home office as you can see in the image here.

 
cool, Well apearently must be amd but not sure, are making a 100,000 core processor machine to track every human on earth who gets an injected microchip. Has to do with one world Government and end times and all.

Well when you get finished counting conspiracies I'll still be pondering on why the AM2 6400+ X2 wasn't seen at newegg or other vendors leaving me with the 6000+ X2 as the fastest stock cpu in the AMD line available when building the new case recently. The difference however is only about 0.2ghz when comparing 3ghz to 3.2ghz.

Actually, I heard the same thing. The figure was closer to 1,000,000 cores, based on 11nm technology. :rolleyes:
