Pentium D 2.8ghz or Core 2 Duo 2.4?

A simple question was it a good choice to swap my Pentium D.2.8 GHZ for a Core 2 Duo 2.4?

Is there a great difference between those 2?
 
The core 2 duo is probably twice as good as you Pentium 4 it is new technology and will be far more faster then your current CPU. Make sure it will fit you motherboard before you buy it.
 
hey! look if you want it to be fast but take a bit longer to do stuff go with the Pentium D. But if u want things to go quick and the computer to go fast go with the Core 2 Duo. There both good CPU's. I've used both before. There both very good. If it was me I would probobly go with the Pentium D because it's 2.8 and the other is .4 slower. But the Pentuim D is still a very good CPU. I'd say go with the Pentium D. I wouldn't suggest you go with AMD

Have you read what other people said ?

Even though Core 2 Duo has .4 slower clock, it is still much faster than Pentium D 2.8GHz

Please if you don't know what your talking then don't post. A Pentium is old technology and any newer CPU at half the speed would kill it in any task,test,benchmark possible. AMD is just as good as Intel and there new Phenom II CPU's are just as good as the Core 2 Quads.
 
guys you do realise that this is happening quite alot over the last couple of days.

Can i make a quick suggestion: Some t**t (i don't mean twit) is making multiple accounts, being an idiot and posting obvious, no brain s**t in the threads that have clearly been resolved, just to muck the forum up and get regulars to post flaming them, just leave them be and they will get bored, realise their lives are pointless and do one
