pentium d 820 fan on a celeron d?

I was wondering if I can use my old pentium d 820 fan on my new celeron d chip.

If they are for the same socket, then yes they will work as they are both the same.

Why did you chance from a Pentuim D to a celeron? That is a downgrade!!! Well provided that they are both the same socket type it should work, just apply some thermal paste beforehand.

Yeah, TP and it's fine. It might even cool better . So yes it will work.

Did you buy your Celeron brand new? It should come with a heatsink and fan.
