Is there a difference between and Intel Pentium D processor and an Intel Pentium Dual Core processor? Is it the same thing with two different names? Ive been searching but cannot find a definite answer.

Pentium Dual Cores were lower clock speed, lower voltage, less wattage, and lower multipliers.

Pentium D-series had more L2 cache I think, and typically ran hotter/used more power. Good CPU though:)

the Pentium Dual Cores are better on benchmark but the Pentium Ds are good and solid processors very overclockable i got the 945 3.4GHz to 4.4GHz an can go more with a better cooler
