How much of a difference would I see between:

Pentium D935 Presler 3.2 & a D945 Presler 3.4?

Would it be worth the $80 price difference?

Has one of the 'know-it-all' IT support guys from your workplace told you that Pentium D is better? LOL!! Go with a Core 2 Duo!!!

He may have one of those LGA775 Motherboards that don't support the C2d.

Or he could've just been asking a question..

Actually God told me to buy one, not the IT guys at work....just kidding.

My mother board doesn't support C2D

I'm not a gamer...just trying to build a faster system than I have now (which I'm giving to my step-daughter) without breaking the bank...I work on a computer all day at work so I'm not to motivated to be on a lot at home...if you know what I mean?

I'm still buying all the components (have a case and a 500gb sata drive is all so far)...should I just take the $60 hit on the mobo and start building a C2D instead?

Oops...forgot I just ordered an Nvidia 8800 GTS 640mb video card too (sorry been a long stressful day trying to get my old computer problems fixed...2nd Thermaltake PS I bought works...1st one was dead)

Can you recommend a board that will take advantage of the 8800gts and not break my wallet?

BTW how much more do the C2D processors cost than the Pentium D's?

The system is going to be used for me to work at home...I do some very intensive CADD work with huge files, etc.

Don't game...at this current time anyway.

Would like to keep it around $120 if that's humanly possible

so close to $300 then for both...what places should I avoid buying those from?

Mwave.com has that mobo for $130

I will say it this way;), Newegg has a SWEET RMA policy, never had to use it, but it's right there waiting. I was edgy to buy from Buy.com, had the manufacturer of what I ordered not had a lifetime warranty or a good tech support reputation, I would've spent the $20 extra for Newegg.

Newegg usually has very good prices and cheap 3-day shipping by UPS. I love the Egg!!!

Wait until on Monday to order, PRICE DROP!!!

I will wait until Monday at least....so go with the E6600 cpu...suggestions on which memory and 2gb or 4gb?
