having trouble running a couple videos while other programs are running, they are chopping up, and freezing. I have replaced video card with best for the motherboard but am scared that i need a new processor also, which means upgrading the motherboard to one that also exepts pci express. i use cube cases so my options are limited to nothing meaning new computers are going to need to be purchased. i am trying to verify that this is what i need to do and that no one has any opinions on alternitive options.

First of all, what CPU do you have? If you don't know, right click My Computer and hit properties. (For windows, if using another OS, offer it up)

How old is the system you have now? What other programs are running when you try to watch the vids? Do you have the latest drivers installed for your video card? Is your CPU getting too hot and scaling back it's clock speed? When was the last time you defraggmented your system? It really won't matter *what* videos you're trying to watch - if they were going to be a problem, they wouldn't have opened.

the are usually dvd's, mp4,or stored files cache, and it uses windows media player. the only thing ever running is a powerpoint. for example, i will be running a powerpoint show, and it will have a inbedded video, which will have a few second pause before playing, sometimes being chopped up, or even not playing at all. these machines are about 3 years old and have 14 that will need to be replaced if i can't come up with a solution. i have tried a new graphics card in one for a test but does not seem to help alot, was thinking it could be processor. i ghost these machines to basically new everytime they come back into the shop (about once a month).
