The upcoming Pentium E2100-series will be released on June.

Pentium E2160 will be clocked at 1.8GHz and it will be priced at $84, Pentium E2140 will be clocked at 1.6GHz and priced at $74. Both CPU's will have 800MHz FSB and 1MB cache

The benchmarks shows that the performance differences between E2160 and E4300 is small

They are keeping the brand name for use in the lower end, what would normally be called Celeron, Core 2 models. I believe celeron will be kept as well but I don't know what they will be.

They are Dual Core, right? I don't know if I would want another Pentium, I think I am about done with them.

That is a Dell uses for their education and government PC's, all I have seen. anyway.

They are to a Core 2 Duo what a Celeron is to a Pentium.
I thought they would kill Celeron since the Pentium name was killed off.
Pentium wasn't killed off, it's no longer the name of the mainstream/high performance desktop part but it's still alive. The new budget parts are being named Pentium now.

I believe that a new Celeron 4xx series is to be released in the new future, also based off the Core 2s. The key difference is that the L2 cache will be stripped to 512KB.
