Pentium II problem

I need help upgrading my pentium II (450 Mhz). Since it is socket 1, and so is pentium III, Can I put one in?

Sure. I don't see why not. Check your mobo to see the fastest processor you can get first though.

You cant always just pop chips in and out! Gotta check with the mobo for compatability

Also RAM compatibility......your old one might only have SIMM, and your new one might need SDDIMM, I'm not sure if this might be a problem, but if you are trying to run more extensive applications with your new proc, you might not have enough (good) RAM to do the job, even if you max it out.
