hey everyone. im wanting to buy a desktop with a minimum of 4gb mem and 500gb hard drive. i have found different brands with these specs but can't decide which processor or even which brand to go with. my budget is 500.00 to 800.00 dollars. all responses will be greatly appreciated.

thanks!

will be used a bunch for photos and video. other than that just the usual net surfing and also for the wifes criminal justice school work.

go 4 an intel core 2 duo/quad. AMD are focusing on ATI at the mo so they are not pushing out new and good CPU's

i am looking for a whole new cpu, not just a processor. the processor will come with it. i was just wanting to know which brand of cpu to go with and which processor is better. sorry for the confusion.

um, you do know that CPU and Processors are the same thing. I think you mean a whole new PC.

How about this computer....it has a 500GB hard drive, AMD 2.1 GHz triple core processor, and 4GB of RAM. It also has Vista Home Premium 64 bit, a great operating system. And best of all....it falls right in your budget:D

As for a screen....this product is "open Box" which means somebody bought it and returned it for what ever reason. Returned items are tested and have a warranty of 15 days money back. You need to test it and make sure it works the minute you receive it. Normally I would not recommend an open box item...but you are on a limited budget and I think you should try it. A 22" inch screen will be great for your new computer!

Computer is right around $600 with shipping

Monitor is about $175 with shipping

I think you be happy with this set up, it will work great for what you will be doing with the computer!
