Personally i dont think temps can b trusted! Look at these

These are temperatures using all the software ive ever been told to use for my cpu. Keep in mind these are all idle temps NO load temps:

Cpu case temp:

Bios: 32c
Speedfan: 37c
Everest: 26c
AsusProbe 2: 25c

Biggest difference: 12c

Cpu Core temps:

Nvidia Monitor: 50c
Everest: 45c
Realtemp: 34c
Speedfan: 43c

Biggest difference: 16c

Keep in mind these are temps using water cooling and only slight overclocking.
The water block is on perfect with artic silver paste. Just out of interest the water temp is 30c. Also is this huge temp difference between the case and the cores is this normal?

O 1 more thing wen i first used Nvidia Monitor with my stock heatsink the temps were 70c idle and wen i removed heatsink i could c i was on fine and the paste was perfectly spread.

the most accurate way is to look in your bios. i use motherboard monitor and it was off by 6* but it has a compensation thing so it can now read the same as the bios. speedfan is usually always inaccurate. Yes, the case temp is usually the northbridge on your mobo and on mine usually runs 20* cooler than the cpu

BIOS is also just a sensor, so it could be wrong. be most accurate ways is to use an external IR gun
An IR gun is "just" a sensor as well. It also isn't possible measure the core temperature with one, and even the CPU case temperature would be nearly impossible to read. Also, getting accurate temperatures with an IR thermometer is very hard unless you know what you're doing.

All temps are made up and fake, take that!

Damn who cares, if you like temperatures become a meteorologist or some shit...

From the discussion, I guess the conclusion is forget the measuring, and just try to keep everything as cool as possible.

Think I'll get some liquid hydrogen, and spray the case once in a while.

..... why post this? all you are doing is making an ass of yourself. you know the importance of temps on OC'd chips, so why even open your mouth?

I second this. Since when do temps NOT matter?? Everyone knows it's very important to keep tabs on them.

blah. coretemp/realtemp are the only ways to get a true core temperature because they take the temp from the thermal diode on the cpu. don't use speedfan/bios or any motherboard monitoring software from the manufacturer because they read off of diodes on the board or socket area.
