I have been debating on getting this processor for $199 at newegg. I have seen it overclocks better and has some other new features. It seems awesome to get 3.8 @ 1.35Vcore.

What is AMD plans for next year?? I do not want to get this then a 95w version come out. What is bulldozer ??

I would save some money and go with the 955. As far as I know they are still the same stepping. RB-C2. Probable just a little higher yield core. If maybe a couple 100 MHZ. more of a overclock means that much to you, go for it.

Bulldozer is AMD next generation CPU on 32nm.

New Phenom II X4 965 Processor:

TDP = 125W (down from 140W)
Hardware C1E implemented (faster switching of power states means virtually no impact to performance by power management when BIOS support is properly implemented)
“Heavy” load support for DDR3-1333 (with proper BIOS implementation, memory controller will now support up to 4 x DDR3 DIMMs @ 1333MHz)

this has stepping c3

Still stick to what I said, on average they are getting 100/200 MHZ better overclocking. I would still just get a 955 and save a few bucks.

I know you're not going to be doing any extreme overclocks (think LHe), but 955 did beat 965 on max clock.

Also, there are a few benchmark reviews that show that if you were to bring the 955 to 3.4GHz (965 stock) the 955 would either equal or exceed the performance of the 965.

get the 955.
