i read on a different site that am3 chips are backwards compatible with AM2 motherboards?

so could i buy a phenom processor and put it in my mobo?

i guess from my understanding i need to figure out whether or not my BIOS can support this?

but i dont know how to figure this out, im looking to buy today if i can do this.. my local store closes in 40 minutes so if someone can help out quick i would appreciate it greatly :D

I am running a ASUS M2N SLI-Deluxe AM2 and I was running a AM2+ Phenom X4 9600 and just flashed my board for AM3 and am going to run a Phenom II X4 945. =D
