anyone know if this would work out to be a good cpu for gaming? my 9150e is pretty weak at 1.8ghz.

Performance and overclocking it will sure spank a 9150s
. But it does really well, overclocks to 3.2 on stock voltage.
The 720 came in second overall.

ya i just read an article where it was put up against an e8400. they overclocked it easily to 3.7ghz os what the guy says. i think ill buy it in a few weeks.

well im sorta stuck. that would be a great cpu for my comps 780g mobo but i plan to get a sweet mobo soon. should i hold out for a better suited cpu for a newer mobo?
No, the 720 is a AM3 processor with a DDR2/3 memory controller.

The 720 is a great cpu and for the price intel has nothing that compares. For a mobo think about going with something 750a or 780a, as those will allow you to go sli in the future(and save money by going ddr2 memory vs ddr3)(also, only if you have an nvidia card, if not look at the AMD 790 line of chipsets).

ok ill look around at motherboards and post back with whatever questions i have. i would like the sli for the future. what were you sayin no to stranglehold?

between mobo and cpu i dont wanna go much over 450. the only things i know i want are the gts250 gpu. thats it, evrything else is whatever you guys can think of i have no prefs, amd, intel, anything

i like the price, i have read probably 20 reviews on it and i like what i have read. plus i already bought it haha.
