I read the OP question as which of the i7 processors will the AMD beat - as in which of the 3 listed below i920 i940 i965 I'll let others answer teh question

N newgunner Member May 4, 2009 #8 None of them. The P2 955 is a really great processor but it is still lagging behind the intel i7's. Although there isn't much performance difference between the 955 and the i7's when gaming.

Stildawn New Member May 4, 2009 #9 If you go against a i7 rig with a nvidia video card the AMD wins, for some reason i7's dont go well with nvidia. Otherwise, all i7 beat it, but its close.

mx344 Active Member May 8, 2009 #10 from the revidew i have seen, the i7's beat the 955 in everything... But in gaming, the 955 competes very well with them, so if you were gaming i would just go for a 955, and save some cash...
