Physical Memory down 50% since yesterday

I have Windows XP Home Edition. Just this morning I checked the physical memory on Windows Task Manager and it's half of what it usually is. The System Cache number is what it usually is but for some reason the total available number is is down 50%. I have done nothing to my computer since yesterday. What would cause the sudden and large drop in the total available physical memory? Thanks!

Right click "my computer" icon and click on properties. On the general tab look under the word "computer" and it will tell you how much memory you have installed. As far as task manager goes you probably have more programs taking up more memory than you had previously. Have you installed anything new lately?
