PhysX?

cause i got like 512 mb ram and a 9250 wich plays most games and the only thong is my crappy p3 so a physx would releve some worck then i might get alot beter seppds wich is mi guesse am i right

i have a p3 katmai cpu a 9250 saphire radeon gpu and 512mb of ram my cpu is shit but if i had a physx wich would handle alot of the phisix in games then would i get a performence increase because the cpu would have less worck to do

I guess, but it would be better to buy a new rig.
 
A PhysX card wouldnt make much of a difference for gameplay, since the PhysX card only makes physics. Your video card still has to render all the graphics.

So i would have to say that getting a PhysX card will show little to no improvement for you. And you would be much better off spending $300 on a new video card and CPU.
 
well... i agree that it wouldn't effect performance.. yet.
games don't have that many physics yet, and soon they will.
technically.. it doesnt go CPU->PPU->GPU
your forgetting that what a cpu processes and therefore what a physx card processes are invisible...
graphics have nothing to do with physics. the physics just keeps track of a certain amount of items, or dimensions of items, and where they are. the GPU only draws them.
i guess we'll have to wait for some benchmarks before we assume anything though... yes, thats right i could be wrong lol.
and to get technical on you, it would most likely have to be the CPU communicating with the system RAM and the two cards simultaneously as needed.

Actually, the CPU does the thinking, then it sends the data to the PhysX and Video card, and the data from the PhysX card goes to the video card
 
I suppose we have to wait for prices to go down, and technology to go up. What a weird technological world we live in. ;)
 
ya well i tried to save for my comp but i aint got credit card and im only 16 i saved 400 and that was hard i need another 600 for my comp if i sell my snowboard worth 600 400 board 200 bindings it mint because i take really good care of my stuff well anyway if i sell it for 200 il have 600 but im thinking i should just get 360 i curently dont have any console considering my xbox died in a flood in the spring when the snow melted i can say those arent very water proff let it drie off for two weeks in the sun tried turning it on nothing so

That really sucks.:( Hope things work out for you. I'm 16 myself. I was able to buy my system (sig) after saving for a long time, but now that I have a job, it's easier to get upgrades now.

I guess you don't have to worry about the PhysX Card yet:rolleyes: .

i feel your pain, i've been saving up money for a new build for quite a while, i got a "job" at my chinese school for a while, made bout 300 bucks. oh btw, punctuations would help alot :P
 
i got a job and im moving back in with my mom and because she is imagfrant she will be forced to go back to worck shes australian as am i i was bourne there but my dads canadian so i got duel citicenship and wellfare has to pay for a baby siter and it can be me so i get to sit at home and get payed while i get a job and make more money will have lost of muhlah
 
I try GhostRecon Advance warfighter .. on my 6600gt .. and i exprience lag .. so can i say.. the main reason that result in this lagging is the PhysAgea that is not supported by my Graphic card ?
