HI all, new to the forum. Im looking at building a new computer but i cant find the right motherboard.
Im planning on
q6600
1066 mem
duel 4870x2 crossfire
250 gig hdd
1200 watt psu

I cant seem to find a motherboard that supports crossfire for my system, any suggestions?

thanks, so the motherboard doesn't have to state that it supports crossfire? i wasn't sure but i should just need the two pci-e ports and the hookups probably come with the video cards right?

Well no motherboard can support crossfire and sli. The X38 and X48 support crossfire only, I'm not too familiar with what other motherboards support crossfire. I think the P45 and P35 motherboards do too. Yes, ATI cards come with the crossfire bridge.

Gigabyte EP45C-DS3R.. great board with the world record setting P45 intel chipset, crossfire compatible and will support everything else you have.

Agreed. Gigabyte EP45C-DS3R supports 45nm Intel® Core 2 multi-core processors with FSB 1600 MHz and also supports both DDR2 and DDR3 memory . :)

i don't know with quadfire i think the 8x slot might slow performance a little bit, the x38 or x48 boards are generally better from what i've heard
