Picture Quality on Flat Screen Monitor

I have recently have noticed a problem with the picture quality on my flat screen monitor. The picture quality deteriorates . Small black lines appear on some parts and the screen seems to shimmer. The screen is less than a year old : confused:

This problem comes and goes, Any Ideas!

Do you have anything emitting EMF really close to the monitor? EMF stands for electromagnetic force, in other words do you have magnets or a power point near you computer? I mean like an extension board or something, because high school physics will tell you, if there is a changing current as in AC, there is a magnetic field. Also, if your speaker is not shielded then that can also the problem. Move these items away, at least 30cm away and you should not have any problems. Be sure to degauss too.

Try moving those interferences away, I don't think bad cables will cause it to shimmer. I have tried it before, the shimmering and the dark lines are caused by a magnetic field present.

well, sparklies can be caused by signal reflection inside the cable, due to bad grounding, improper impedance, or bad shielding

they can also be caused by poor quality wire in the cable, causing signal dropout

sparklies are a tell tale sign of a weak signal

You would have to abuse a connection really badly to get to that stage, monitor connectors are very sturdy and strong.

you're neglecting the important fact that some cables aren't any good to begin with

trust me, there's a WIDE array of quality in computer video interconnects

Which cable do I need to replace? Is it the cable that links the PC with the Monitor or is the cable internal??????
