pictures music etc in seperate partition to vista?

Hi, I'm running vista business 64 bit, and have made a separate partition to store all my data like music pictures etc, so that if there is a problem with OS, and it needs re-installing, I can do so without losing all my data. Thing is my vista partition is only like 24GB big, and I was wondering if it is ok for me to copy my home folder (with music, pics, documents etc) to the seperate 'data' drive I've created.

I'd also like to be able to do the same with my program files if at all possible? If I simply copy the program files folder over to the other drive (the data partition), then will this cause any problems? Also, If I reformatted and reinstalled vista on its partition, would the previous programs still be installed?

Thanks

The is no problem moving your home data to another partition but copying program files data while there are installed program in it, that will cause you a problem unless the software in it does not rely on registry(most of them are rely on registry).

You can install software on another partition but after you reformat the pc, most of them will no working anymore.
