but the memory will drop since it's 168 pins.
true for the p2 based celerons but if its a coppermine (p3 based) celeron it does have cachethe Celeron has no cache
Sorry if i missed something for once, i was slightly distracted my the snobbish attitude to your other post. Now, if you were to read his original post you would of realized this.
FYI not everyone's well-off enough to be able to afford better. Are you sure you can't upgrade to a better P4? Celeron really... really... stinks...
That comment is bit closeminded. Celerons, for most everyday people, work just fine. I build a computer using a Celeron with the intent of spending very little money and that computer works great. For some applications, such as running some of my Fortran programs, it works almost as well as my P4 system. Are you sure you can't upgrade to a better P4? Celeron really... really... stinks...
ooooh Fortran ... long time no hearFor some applications, such as running some of my Fortran programs

Yeah, unfortunately I have to use it for some of my fluid and thermo modellingooooh Fortran ... long time no hear
Indeed, I also heard something about mobile Semperons and 64bit support although i dont trust MaximumPC ... of course to go from Pentium3 even to P4-Celeron is still a nice jumpOkay.. well maybe a Celeron D is fine... but I wouldn't go with the previous generation of Celerons. A Sempron is also a good idea for everyday users. That's what I recommend my friends who are on budget (either that or Celeron D).

If im not mistaken, Celerons are [officially] discontinued (not to mention the mobos for them are usually not that great)Well the Sempron might be the best option for one on a budget. But if the decision is made to go to Celeron, for goodness sakes, make sure it is Celeron D.. because even a change from P3 to a regular Celeron won't really produce much in the way of performance jumps.
Read again (i added stuff) but no matter, the issue is closedAlso I'm not incoherent
