The title says it. I can't take pictures at the moment but I drew out what we are starting from.

We found 2 of these. They have the old:

Pentium 2.
32mb Ram
3.3GB HDD
Dg Vodoo
Windows NT. Now we are turning our first test one into...............................

Intel core 2 Duo E6500.
2048mb DDR2 800MHz 6400 CL5
250GB HDD
Nvidia 7950GT 512mb X2 in SLI.
We wont be selling it as it's going to our mummys friends who has children. So we be painting it blue and pink. Half blue half pink!

P.S I'm a child too.....:o

So you're pretty much just turning it into a new machine.

Are you going to use the old mobo? I don't think it'll work...(also, are you buying a new OS?)

New Mobo. New Os.

Mobo XFX nForce 680i SLI, nForce-680i SLI, Socket-775, 2xGbLAN, DDR2, 2xPCI-Ex16

OS. Windows Vista Buisness/Ultimate made in bouble boot.:D

I'm confused... seems like youre just building a PC from scratch but just keeping the same case. That seems pointless....

Yeah, if you're buying all that other stuff, 2gb of mem, 250gb hdd, 2x512mb 7950GT's - why not just buy a new case for $40 bucks? With all that stuff youre going to want to have nice air flow and with a small gateway case..... it doesn't do your system any justice... Let me guess... youre going to have a 15" CRT monitor to go with those video cards too right? (sorry... that sounded kinda rude. not my intentions)

So basically your just using the gateway case for the new build?

If thats what your doing, it would be a great sleeper

The one we are doing now is the 1 in the picture. The ultimate 1 be in a tower case. Also we are customizing the case by: Using parts of Laptop Coolers for better airflow. Also if we do need to extend the case we wi;; probley lend up either A. Extending the case I.E Buy metal extend and paint. B. Get a new case.;) And no I'ts using a 19inch TFT;)

P.S Can someone give me the name type of that gateway case. Is it a tower?

It's a desktop. Yes, most computers that aren't notebooks or servers are referred to as desktops, but the style of case that is horizontal and is designed to have the monitor placed on top is know as desktop.

Ok! Change of plans. We are going to create the cases.

Case 1.

How it works:
It's slanted at the side and goes higher. But putting the monitor on a non slanted place. hard to explain. The Desgin will be thick black steel painted silver and a ying and yang desgin like in picture. The Cooling be good on it. At the back It will be using like what A laptop uses.

But inside it it will have laptop coolers at the sides. Using External but inside the case Via Usb Ports.

Why not just use a few fans instead of using the to be honest god awful cooling a laptop has? You can just get a few almost silent fans that'll do a much better job. Those components are high-end and if you do try laptop cooling they'll get very hot and the CPU no doubt will throttle back to stop itself dying.
