Ok well I ordered a 6600 GT video card and Im very happy. But, by accident, i got the AGP 8x instead of PCI-E. The Agp fits in and everything but i was wondering if PCI was faster. Somewhere I heard that PCI is much faster so now Im mad that i bought the wrong thing and I cant return it.So is PCI much better?

First the bad news: PCIe is faster (potentially)
Now the good news: PCIe isn't really faster because the extra bandwidth isn't used yet
Now the really good news: Your board doesn't support PCIe so you did buy the right card

Ok, well I guess thats good! Good thing i didnt get PCI then. Would you notice a huge diffrence with a PCI card?

You will notice no difference between a pci-e 6600GT and a agp 6600GT. The agp slot it not a limiting factor for that card or any card I know of that currently for sale so having pci-e has no benfit yet. In the future there might be benfits to pci-e cards.

Ok, sweet. Thats a load off my shoulders.

PCI and PCI-E are different, if you bought an agp card for your agp motherboard you're fine, if you would have bought a PCI-E version of the card it wouldnt have worked in a pci slot(regular PCI slots are slower than agp and pci-e)

They had to go and make things more confusing eh? hehe. As already suggested, there is a difference between PCI and PCI-E so when your talking about PCI Express it's best not to refer to it as PCI. Also you would not really notice any difference between the two at the moment but give it another generation of cards or maybe two and yes I'm sure you'll see the difference.
