Pixel Died

I have had a LCD Hanns-G HU171A Monitor Since February. Just today I noticed at the bottom of the screen there is a little red dot. Does that mean one of my pixels's died?

Really? So your saying if I run a movie of flash it may be resolved? I think I may call the manufacturer because I have a 3 year warranty.

most companies won't do anything unless it's more than about 7 pixels or so.

As for the video mentioned above, be careful. People have said that video can actually make the problem worse, causing more dead/lazy pixels!

If it's a different color then it's a stuck pixel, a dead pixel wouldn't show any color. Don't count on the manufacturer helping you because most require 8 or more dead pixels for it to be returned (dead pixels, not stuck).

There are a few programs out there to help fix it, but what I found the best way was to use a cloth and apply a moderate amount of pressure over the stuck pixel, and move it around a bit. This worked on all my stuck pixels on my monitors.
