check your vid card temps, could be overheating. If your pc is full with dust give it a complete clean.

I agree with Yue. I think your card has simply started to overheat. Get a cotton-earbud (I think you guys call it a Q-tip). Perfect for cleaning fan blades.

have you oc the graphic card if so revert back to stock speeds it could be overheating also make sure you have the latest driver

sorry for the late response and thanks for the many responses, had a few family problems to take care of, well my specs r:
128 mb DDR ATI Radeon 9800 pro
Pentium 4 3.0ghz
250 gb harddrive
1gb ram

sorry if its not descriptive enough
i'm gonna try cleaning it right now and to meanman how do i do wut u said to do lol~
and yes i do have the latest driver

-also im pretty sure im not suppose to be doing this but when i "wiggle" my graphics card a lil bit the graphcis seems to turn to normal until a little later on it turns back to the way it was

That might indicate a bad connection with the motherboard. Try clean the connectors on the card and see if that clears it up. If not, the interface port on the board may be loose and therefore faulty.

Oh, and your system specs should be fine with that game...

Sometimes that happens to me on America's Army but I haven't OC'd it at all. The temps vary around 50C idle and prob around 60C underload but imnot sure. Usually just doing the commands for closing the window(Alt+F4) and minimizing all windows(window key+M) and Ctrl+Alt+Del repetively works to close the window and just restart and it works

but it might be a different problem than you

Let me ask you this, do you get those artifacts on desktop or even on bootup?

Recently vRAM on my X800GTO2 went down, you could play normally but it had alot of artifacts, just like on your screenshot. Luckily it had warranty. btw, the card was even underclocked when this happened.

yes i do get them on my desktop icons / cursor/start up
the problem does seem to fix on the desktop icons/cursor/when i turn down the hardware acceleration but does not fix my game problems
also i do not believe my card was OC because i have never touched those options

I see,

Well, there can be several problems, like... card overheating becouse there is too much dust in the fan and it can barely spin :p , vRAM went down just like in my case, driver problem (less likely, but I had an experiance once, a card with proper drivers had artifacts when hardware acceleration was turned on)

I suggest to clean the card and blow several times in AGP slot, maybe dust went in there... If that doesn't work, it can be a permanent hardware damage on your card.

How long do you have that card?

i've had it for about.. 3-4 years, i'll attempt to clean the slots more, also can u go into more detail of the vRAM possibility
