Placement of memory in slots

My desktop has two DIMM slots.

I have one 8MB DDR4 2400 MHz memory and a 16MB DDR4 2134 MHz memory.

Which one should be inserted into Slot 1?

IF I was going to use those sticks I would put the larger one in slot one. Having said that RAM these days likes to be matched and those are not a matched pair so I wouldn't use them. The other thing is that you say they are 8Mb and 16Mb (megabyte). that is not a lot of RAM. I think you mean 8Gb and 16Gb (gigabyte)

I don't think it will mater but like Pete said mismatching different sticks is a bad idea. You might run into problems later on.

With two slots it doesn't matter.

Per others you want to match specs. Performance will be slightly less or inconsistent as you have to interleave between the higher and lower capacity sticks
