Instead of going threw a program like MS paint and pasting a picture onto your wallpaper, Is there anyway to place a picture onto your desktop and just like move it or delete it when you want? I saw one of my friend place a GIF on there but I forgot how he did it.

Are you new to windows? Even my mother knows how to do that!

Right click on the desktop and select properties. Then go to the desktop tab and select browse. Choose any picture you want.

I'm sorry, but your name really suits my answer, Captain Obvious.

No!!!! I ment... I HAVE desktop wallpaper which I want to keep! and say i want a nother picture like say in the corner or something. Kind of like a Post it note.

I'm old to windows btw.

Not possible to have two seperate wallpapers at the same time like you are asking about... as far as I know. I have however seen third party programs that offer stuff like this (bulletin boards and post it type deals). Have no information about them... but they're out there.

Only other option I can think of would be to actually use image editing to place your second picture on the first one... save the new image as a new file and just make that your wallpaper.

probly not what you are looking for but use photoshop to sstick to wallpapers together....problem solved, there is your 2 wallpapers :D

I don't think you guys get what I'm trying to say lol. Maybe I didn't explain it well enough. Alright, Do you guys know the post-it note app? Ok, say I'm searching the net and I see a funny picture..I don't want to use that as my wallpaper, I just want it to be on my desktop and take it off when I wish instead of saving and switching wallpapers. Just like oh there is a picture click- and it's on my desktop NOT AS MY WALLPAPER. I've seen it before. I just can't find it.

I can't see any reason to do that. Changing wallpapers is so quick and easy, why wouldn't you just change it, then change it back?

well im not sure if they make these sort of things for XP....oh hang on, what are you running? (XP, Vista ect.),
if you are running vista you should have widgets, there is a certain widget for vista, and its a little frame that you can put pictures in, and you can take it off anytime you like, so it would be your desktop background and the picture of your choice in the frame.

as for XP (If you are running XP), i am pretty sure you can get widgets for XP but not so sure on the specific widget you are looking for. also not sure on how big you can make the frame.

i apologies if this means nothing to you and it still isnt what you are looking for but thats the best i can come up with for ya mate.....
