Is it worth picking one up now? I hear they are supposed to release a PSP2 sometime this year, anyone know if thats true?

There is no way... there would have been an official press release if it was that soon...

If you can get a good deal on one, go for it. I'd prefer a DS myself.
 
Well I plan on picking one up within the week. It's used, has a small scratch on the screen, comes with a 2GB memory card, a GTA game, a NFS game, leather case, and running firmware 3.40 OE for $165 shipped...PM me with what you think about the deal? The guy said one of the games doesn't have a case, and he doesn't have the box to the PSP.
 
lol, 3.02 oea for me. A bit behind the times:o . Good deal on the PSP. I've had mine since January '05, and it stills works perfectly fine, despite the crap I've put it through. The graphics are awesome, and best of all, God of War is coming out for it:D :D
 
The report suggests that Sony will upgrade the built-in memory from 32MB to 8GB based on memory chip industry movement; will add a built-in Eye-Toy-like camera; and will retool the UMD drive into a slot-loading drive. Naturally, the upgraded PSP will be slimmer than its predecessor.

hey guys, I finally got my psp. I picked up the psp, sony travel case(the $20 one), Psyclone's Pro pack, 2GB duo stick, 2 movies(Fun with Dick and Jane and BAd Boys II), and 2 games(GTA Liberty City, and NBA Live 07) for around $290 with tax. So now my question is, what are some suggested programs I download and put on my psp. Also I just installed this program on my computer so that it acts as a server for all my itunes songs so I can listen to them on my psp without using any of my memory card(I think it's pretty cool!).

EDIT: one more question, is there a way to stream videos off of youtube so I can watch them on my psp without downloading them? (without any sort of un-official altercations to the firmware not approved by Sony?)

Okay, how do you do this? My brother would die if he saw demo's. I think his firmware is 2.82. Anyway, get Fight Night Round 3, that is the best boxing game I have ever played.
 
Just go onto the sony playstation website and under psp, click downloads and theres like 6 or 7 game demos. Two pretty good ones that I've been playing is NBA 07 and MLB 07. THe only thing is, you need atleast firmware 3.03 to play the demos so I decided to just update to the latest firmware which is 3.50 and it just came out like 4 days ago.
 
just download the demo from sony's website, and then exctract is to your computer and put it on the memory card under "games" and your good to go.
