Plan to purchase laptop($1000)

I recently have been planning on purchasing a new laptop. I know everyone is not a fan of the whole ideal behind a "gaming laptop" as a desktop can blow them out of the water(I am aware) but as I am a college student and always on the go, portability is key.

I recently stumbled upon a company called Sager, which I have never heard of... but after googling a bit about their quality, it seems they are very well done, with no complaints.

Anyone heard of/have experience with Sager laptops? Any compatibility problems?
How is the tech support/customer service?
Any overall problems that would make a person avoid purchasing from them?

I am looking to play really anything out to date on medium... not looking to blow the game out of the water or anything... and as I said, portability is key, so a desktop computer just will not do. Working with $1000 limit(maybe a bit more if it is absolutely worth it) Don't want anything toooo bulky and want a 15"(15.6") screen. 17" is too big for my liking. Any suggestions?

The Asus laptop is a good one, I have one, but it is kinda bulky, and it is not so easy to add or upgrade the hard drive. away from that it is a very fast laptop and run very cool.

well it's not too easy to upgrade anything on any laptop is it.

Most of the laptops I have is very easy to upgrade the hard drive, ram and dvd drives except this one. I have to take off the keyboard and the back cover to get to the hard drive. Plus this laptop doesnot like the boot disk being second drive. Asus have made this laptop on intension not to make regular user to change the hard drive.

that's the best gamer close to 1000, actually cheapest lappy with gaming quality card. i kjnow one person on here recently said something about sager i think, and i believe it was good, but doubt it beats an asus.

I went down to best buy and saw that exact same model there. The pictures looked big online, but in person... it is SO much bigger. I bet it runs great, but it better for being how big it is. Not something I am wanting to escort around though.

I have not heard about Sager laptops...but i would recommend you to purchase...Asus Laptop / Intel® Core™ i5 Processor -15.6" Display - 6GB Memory -640GB Hard Drive...you may have to pay some more...but its good!

That shouldn't cost anymore than $1000. Finding those specs aren't too difficult, just finding a halfway decent video card to go along with it is the hassle. I keep running across Geforce 540m, and tops 560m but just looking for the best bang for the buck.

Yes that is a bit bulky, I have one and I won't want to carry it around. but I have seen most laptop with high end cards kind bulky, maybe due to the design to make it cool. Never seen any with slim body.
Cheers.
