Planning on building a new Gaming rig in January what should I get...

I am thinking right now that my budget will be somewhere in the 1000-1500 range.

Also, are there new processors / video cards coming out that I should wait for?

I want this machine to not hiccup at anything I throw at it.

Also, what do you think is fair market value of my current machine? What do you think I can get for it?

My current machine I build in November of 2009. Specs are in my sig.

idk about the current rig but late this year (next month) was the last date i heard about the hd7000's, but that won't be all of them and i think they said the 900 wouldn't be out till later, but also 1st quarter of next year is supposed to see the ivy bridges and new chipsets for lga115, so i'd wait for them and the 7000's or gtx600's which should be out q1 of next year i think too.

Like Johnny said, there are new processors and new video cards coming out later this year/early next year. Whether or not you want to get them is subjective. If you want a new PC now, the chips and cards that are out now are in no means weak. You can build a nice setup with 2500k/2600k and 6950/6970 or 560ti/570/580, depending on how much you want to spend.

Chasing the next new piece of hardware gets you nowhere. New things are coming out all the time and waiting for them can be time consuming. But there are options you can get if you want to upgrade later. You may want to wait for the new X79 or LGA2011 chipsets coming out, and choose a motherboard with PCI-e 3.0. That will give you the most upgradability. (new word I made up...)

upgradability is a word, but i wouldn't get a lga2011, it is currently only used by 6 core sandy bridges and costs a lot, with no gaming benefits at all, and i was saying wait till then since he was planning for the build next year, and a list now will just have to be redone then with price drops and new hardware.
