Hello everybody,
Currently I'm using D-LINK wireless router WBR-1310. It's the cheapest wireless D-LINK router and I bought it few years ago. I have a range problem with it, it is connected to my PC on the main floor, and I have my laptop on the 2nd floor and receive very weak/unstable signal(frequent disconnected/lost connection/very weak signal). FYI, my laptop on the 2nd floor is using a D-Link WUA-1340 Wireless G USB Adapter (54 Mbps). (I also have another wireless adapter, but it still receive very weak signal)
For some reasons, I CANNOT move my current router to the 2nd floor, so it has to stay in the main floor. I'm planning to buy a new router, and hopefully I can receive stronger/stable signal even on the 2nd floor. I've came across two models:
1. WBR-2310 RangeBooster G (108Mbps):
http://www.dlink.com/products/?pid=470
2. DIR-615 Wireless N Router:
http://www.dlink.com/products/?pid=565
The price for DIR-615 is slightly higher than WBR-2310, but I can afford both. Which model of the above is better in terms of range? I'm more concern with the range instead of speed, as long as I receive strong signal on the 2nd floor, I'm happy. Also I hope those routers will be compatible with my laptop's D-Link WUA-1340 Wireless G USB Adapter (54 Mbps).
