Play Racing Games

Hi All,

I enjoy racing games more than any othet style of game. Problem I find is to play racing games at full performance, i get the impression you need mega performace PC.

I have a P4 3.2 775 with 1GB of ram and a Geforce 6600 256mb.

What would I need to upgrade to to be able to handle latest games. WOuld it be the case a bran new build or upgrade. Also will go to vista suppose to XP.

well i play underground 2 on a geforce 4 440MX 2.8GHz (oc'd to 3GHz)... 512 MB ram... and it plays great. you do not need a c2d or anything unless your into extreme racing games... right now id upgrade that vid card more than anything else
 
i'd say upgrade your video card.
if your motherboard can support PCI-X and has an x16 slot, you can get a 512mb 7600gs for under $100 from newegg.com. it will play most games on the market with medium to high graphics settings.

another gig of ram woulden't hurt either.
if your going to upgrade this pc to vista, definatly put in another gig
vista needs 512mb ram compaired to XPs 64mb of ram, that missing 400mb of ram is really apparent when it comes to gaming when you only have 1gb total ram.
