playin with some hard drives (newbie)

i'm new to this all and dono much lingo but heres what i have to ask..

i have my school laptop which i cant really do anything too, and a pc with three extra hard drives (40, 40, and 80 Gb),
questions...
(1)does having move hard drive space make your computer faster?
(2)is there ANYWAY to turn a hard drive into ram haha?
(3) how can i put all three hard drives (maybe four) into one external hard drive for cheap?

Somewhat. If your hard drive is almost full, then the extra room will help. However, if you are looking for speed, there are different speeds or hard drives that can help.

(2)is there ANYWAY to turn a hard drive into ram haha?

There is something called Virtual Ram, but your computer will basically do it automatically. If you are unsure of what RAM you need, or if you are maxxed out, here is a useful program: RAM Slot Identifier

I know that inside a desktop, you can use RAID to connect smaller harddrives into a faster larger one. I am not sure if this is possible with an external connection like that.
